CHALK WALK, FACE PAINTING and EASEL PAINTING
The Chalk Walk and Face Painting have become part of the Berea Arts Fest but are not actually events provided by the Berea Arts Fest. The Chalk Walk is sponsored by the Berea Branch of the Cuyahoga County Library. The Chalk Walk takes place on the sidewalk along Coe Lake. Registration is highly encouraged at the Berea Branch of the Library approximately 2 weeks prior to event. The Chalk Walk is not a contest and no prizes are awarded. Registrants and walk-ups are given chalk (or can bring their own) and encouraged to create original pieces of chalk art. The Chalk Walk typically takes place between 10 a.m. and noon on the day of the Fest. Face Painting is provided free of charge and paint is supplied by Patrice Novak, friends and family. Face painting is typically available all day and is located by the Coe Lake Kiwanis Pavilion.
Easel Painting was sponsored for the first time in 2007 by the United Methodist Church of Berea. All supplies are provided and budding painters are encouraged to paint, paint and paint (with tempera paints). Smocks are available and pictures are allowed to be taken home! Easel Painting is also available all day and is also located by the Coe Lake Kiwanis Pavilion.
