The Berea Arts Fest is proud to recognize Izabela Zelnicek as the recipient of the 2025 Berea Arts Fest Scholarship. A standout student with a remarkable dedication to the arts and academics, Izabela exemplifies the spirit of creativity, leadership, and community engagement that this award celebrates.
Izabela is a passionate and driven young artist planning to pursue a degree in graphic design at Bowling Green State University this fall. Her commitment to the arts is evident through her impressive portfolio and numerous accolades, including 2nd Place in the PTA Reflections Visual Arts competition, published works in Celebrating Art (spring, summer, and fall editions), and photo features in Teen Ink Magazine. She was also honored with a Staff Pick and an Award of Outstanding Achievement in her high school’s annual art show.
Beyond the classroom, Izabela is a vibrant part of her school community, participating in a wide range of extracurriculars: Key Club, marching band, environmental club, origami club, drama club (set construction), art club, chess club, and multiple academic honor societies—National Honor Society, National Math Honor Society, National English Honor Society, Rho Kappa, and the National French Honor Society.
Her achievements stretch even further, earning her the Global and State Seal of Biliteracy in French, 4th place in the Maison Française French Regional Speaking Competition, and multiple academic honors such as the Marching Band Leadership Award, Ohio American Legion Government Test High Score, the President’s Award for Educational Excellence, the AP Scholar Award, and Student of the Year in both French and Art Foundations/Drawing.
Izabela Zelnicek is a shining example of how talent, hard work, and passion can come together to shape a bright future. We’re excited to see where her journey in the arts takes her next—and we know it will be somewhere extraordinary.
